FREE health walks are being run in Frome to help local people stay fit and healthy at no cost.
There are three walks at different difficulties each week and they are all open to everyone.
Organiser Jo Smith says, “The health walks are brisk walks done on a regular basis for well-being. They can help you to feel good, to have more energy, to sleep better and to manage your weight.
“All walks are free of charge and are led by a team of volunteers. There are varying lengths of walks to choose from and, if it’s your first health walk in a while, try a shorter route first and then chat to a walk leader when you think you are ready to do a bit more.”
On Mondays a short easy walk sets off from the Cheese & Grain at 10.30am and walks 1-1.5 miles in 30-45 minutes. On Wednesdays a slighter more difficult 45 minute walk takes place from Frome Medical Centre starting at 9.30am. Then on Fridays, walks generally ranging from three to five miles set off from different places around the area.
The next one will be this Friday, 4th November, starting from the junction of Wallington Way and Vallis Road in Frome and taking in 2.7miles of fields and riverside woodland.
