THERE’S still time to support Frome Town FC and get your name on a seat and their ‘Wall of Thanks’ at the club’s stadium.
After successfully raising £20,000 during lockdown to save the club from financial crisis and protect its continued existence, Frome Town FC has increased its fundraising target to £30,000.
The club says, “Our target of £30,000 will allow us to get through the entire summer without the financial pressure of securing additional funding and give the club room to find new sponsors to come on board. If we raise enough, the club will also offer to buy all the tickets to one of our home games.”
The club is asking for any donations, however a donation of £50 guarantees a fan their name on their seat and on the club’s ‘Wall of Thanks’.
The community-focused club has been hit hard during the lockdown with all programmes of events cancelled, no matches and their community support stopping.
Gary Collinson Frome Town FC’s operations director said, “As with all our activities, we are looking to our community to help us. The initial response has been fantastic.”
Frome Town FC marketing manager, Scott Fitzgibbon added, “We see a lot of clubs doing crowdfunding appeals to cover the losses of the lockdown, but this goes beyond managing the lockdown, this is about helping to save a local club. The club needs support from beyond the existing fans.”
