FROME College students have been invited to be involved in BBC’s Question Time when it comes to the town next month.
This will be Question Time’s first visit to Frome, and will be held in the Merlin Theatre on Thursday 21st March, days before Britain is due to leave the EU. Frome residents are encouraged to apply to have their questions answered by a panel of invited guests from the political world and the media.
Frome College said, “Frome College students interested in the technical side of TV or politics have been invited to watch the set up and rehearsal process, including a Q&A session with the director prior to the show.
“Following our success in the Rotary Youth Speaks Competition there has been an increase in enthusiasm for public debate. We have worked on our debating skills with middle schools and hosted a summer event with Selwood and Oakfield, which we hope to replicate this summer.
“We also ran an Able & Ambitious public speaking event, and came 2nd out of 22 regional schools in the national organisation PIXL’s debating competition.”
You can apply online to be in the audience of panellists by visiting the BBC’s website via bbc.co.uk/questiontime or by calling 0330 123 9988.
