Since the company was started in the early 1980’s by husband and wife Andrew and Anne Prince, Studio Prints have grown to become one of the largest and most successful picture framers in the region.
Many things have changed during this period but the one thing that has remained unchanged is Studio Prints location in the heart of Frome.
Over the past few years the company has invested heavily in upgrading its workshop equipment to continue to offer its customers access to state of the art framing machinery which when combined with its three full time framers expertise means they are able to offer an unrivalled bespoke framing service to the local community.
Your framing ‘adventure’ begins when you visit our main shop in the Westway Shopping Centre; here our experienced staff will discuss the framing options available to you in our relaxed gallery environment.
The work is then taken to our 5,000 square foot workshop in Bath Street where our framers give your treasured artwork or memento that bespoke care and attention to make certain that what you receive exceeds your expectations.
The ‘adventure’ concludes when your finished job is taken back to our shop in the Westway Centre for you to collect at your leisure.
Mark Prince of Studio Prints answers some popular questions about what Studio Prints can offer:
What Can You Frame?
“Literally we can frame anything, we used to have the slogan “You Name It, We Frame It” emblazoned across our first company van… we are able to frame prints, photographs, original artwork, memorabilia, 3 dimensional objects. What we offer is a bespoke framing service, so within reason whatever you, the customer wants you get.”
What Choice Do I Have?
“We work with many of the UK and Europe’s leading suppliers which in turn allow us to offer our customers over 1,000 different mouldings to choose from, 250 or more colours of mount board to consider and even four different grades of glass. This seems overwhelming on paper, however with the help of our staff and importantly our customer’s involvement we can quickly create some eye-catching options for you to consider.”
How Quickly Do You Work?
“We aim to complete the majority of framing jobs in 7-14 days, however if time is of the essence or you have left that Christmas present idea to the last minute please pop in and see us and where possible we will help you out.”
How Much Do You Charge?
“This is the most common question we are asked and the hardest to answer as every job is produced to your specification. As a large scale framer we are able to negotiate good discounts from our suppliers which we pass on to our customers; we offer a no obligation quotation on all framing so bring in what you are considering framing and we will talk through the options with you.”
Can You Cope With Volume?
“The answer is yes and this really falls into two categories, firstly we work with individual artists or collective groups who will typically require a number of items framing for an exhibition or event, or require us to offer them with a framing solution which they can then use to sell their work at events such as art and craft fairs or specific shows or through online platforms which typically include Not On The High Street, Ebay and Etsy”.
“The second category we work with is business and commercial organisations who either require a large number of items framing at any one time or who have a requirement for framing on a regular basis, we work with many companies both locally and nationally on this basis.
“Again we would encourage people or companies who have a regular demand for framing to contact us and give us the opportunity to find out a bit about each other and how we can work together”.
What One Phrase Sums The Framing Side Of Your Business Up?
“I think the age old adage of being big enough to cope yet small enough to care has never been more true than it is for an independent family run picture framers like ourselves. We have enjoyed meeting the framing requirements of Frome and the surrounding area for the past 30 years and look forward to continuing to do so over the next 30 years and beyond.”
As well as offering a framing service Studio Prints has one of the area’s largest collections of contemporary and traditional artwork displayed in their first floor gallery as well as being one of the region’s leading stockist of art and craft materials.
In this artistic town Studio Prints really does work hard at being your one stop shop for all things ‘Art’ and having recently signed a new 10 year lease on their Westway Centre Shop, they are here to stay and build on that reputation.
