An Evening with Gervase Phinn will have you on the edges of your seats, as he shares his hilarious and sometimes poignant tales of life as a schools inspector in the Yorkshire Dales. Dubbed ‘the James Herriot of schools’.
With his keen ear for the absurd and sharp eye for the ludicrous, Gervase Phinn has delighted audiences all over the UK with stories of his experiences as a school inspector.

During 2014 the statue of WW1 Private Robins, that had for many years stood outside the factory of Tyco, formerly known as J W Singer and Co Ltd on Handlemaker Road, was moved to its new site outside the Frome Memorial Theatre.
Frome Film and Video Makers, led by their chairman Ernie McKenna, recorded the whole of the re-siting exercise culminating in the dedication ceremony held on Sunday 3rd August 2014.
The world premier of the feature-length DVD entitled ‘Welcome Home Charlie Robins’ was held on 12th February 2015 and the Memorial is delighted to be showing it once again at the Frome Assembly Rooms.
