Sustainable Frome’s tenth birthday celebrations brought together original and brand new members in the new Town Hall’s impressive council chamber.
Started in a small room above the Griffin pub as a way for like-minded people to share ideas, Sustainable Frome has both been sustainable (meeting every first Thursday for a decade), and supported a huge range of projects over the decade. Many of the ‘green’ initiatives that make Frome a cleaner healthier place to live have had links to the group, which has also supported lobbying and campaigning on national and international issues. The birthday celebrations enabled a large group to share memories, notices of current events and look to the future.
Sustainable Frome looks forward to the next decade in the knowledge that large numbers of small actions can add up to the changes we need to see so that not just Frome, but the wider environment, is to be maintained as fit for habitation.
