FUSSELS Fine Foods, producers of locally grown rapeseed oil, has branched out and created an exciting new food and community initiative, The Fussels Fine Foods Forum.
Building on the success of his Fussels Fine Food brand based around his single cold pressed extra virgin rapeseed oil which he launched some 10 years ago, local entrepreneur Andy Fussell has created the Fussels Fine Food kitchen, a venue that will cater for an exciting range of food and family based activities that anyone and everyone can be a part of.
It offers a full programme of food related activities, including demonstrations, master classes, social evenings, cooking for children, family days on the farm, as well as much more.
The venue was opened on June 30th by the well known television Chef Lesley Waters, who prepared something special for those lucky people who went a long. Andy Fussell also showed people around the new site and explained the field to bottle process that creates his single cold pressed extra virgin rapeseed, including a demonstration of the new press, filter system, filler and labeller that have just been installed.
Andy said, “It was a fantastic event with Lesley Waters cooking up a storm. It just shows the potential that our new kitchen has to be a focus for foodies in Frome in the weeks and months ahead.
“The new Fussels Fine Food Forum is important for us but also for the local community and everyone in the region who loves good food and is interested in finding out more about how great ingredients go to make great meals. I have no doubt that it will very quickly become established as a major food event venue.
“I have long been passionate about bringing the story of how we work with the land to create amazing ingredients and food, and when we engage with people they are always amazed and want to know more, so I decided to create our own theatre of food.
‘The events designed for children and families are something I really do believe can have tremendous value. Too many youngsters are not very aware of the what the growing cycle is all about, or how their food gets to their plate from the farm and when they get to be hands on and see what it is all about and even make their own food, they love it and food should be fun.”
