SINCE opening on the 6th June last year to a roaring welcome from Fromies, The Artisan has spent the last year getting settled into community life.
“We are thrilled to have built up such a lovely loyal group of regular customers and have worked hard to achieve our vision to create a community-led locals’ pub; we listen to what our customers want and do our best to deliver,” Siobhan Cook, owner of The Artisan explains.
“In the next 12 months, we will be focusing on four key areas; our customers, events, food and community.
“Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and whether you are on your own or with a group, a first time visitor or a regular, you will be welcomed like an old friend when you arrive at The Artisan. So if there is something you fancy or something you would like to see us doing then please do speak to the team.
“We are continuing to grow our live music scene with the aim of having a band or DJ every Saturday; we want to support local talent so are focussed on only booking local bands. We are also hosting our very first ‘Arty Festival on the Terrace’ as part of the Frome Festival on 2nd July.
“In addition, we are organising a whole host of special events in 2016 including a Reggae Night with traditional Goat Curry & Live Music on 27 May; a Summer Ball in Aid of We Hear You on 29 July as well as open mic nights, craft markets, gallery nights, monthly pub quiz, poker nights, beer festivals & much more – keep an eye on our Facebook page for details of all our upcoming events
“To celebrate our first birthday, we will be re-launching our restaurant with a new menu which will be a showcase of locally sourced ingredients with a focus on fresh, healthy dishes that are bursting with flavour. As everything is prepared freshly to order we are totally flexible with dietary requirements and our menu will be accommodating to vegetarian, vegan & gluten free diners.
“Back by popular demand is our lunch special which will include a hearty lunch such as steak & fries and a drink for £9. We are also introducing Afternoon Tea and if you’re having a party why not let us do the hard work for you and provide the buffet?
“We will be growing our ties with the local community in as many ways as we can. We are developing a loyalty scheme for other local business owners to help grow on the amazing support network with rewards and discounts.
“We will be supporting local charities wherever we can be that by donating raffle prizes or hosting events such as the Summer ball in aid of #WeHearYou and we are also talking to other organisations such as Fair Frome about ways we can support them with their community lunches.
“All in all we couldn’t have asked for a better first year and for that we want to thank you our amazing customers – we couldn’t do it without you, this is your pub & it’s our mission to ensure we deliver what you want.”
