Tibetan Memories are a mobile catering couple who have just opened a friendly and affordable pop up café at The Good Heart, a new centre in Palmer Street, Frome, which is dedicated to exploring kindness.
This is not just another café. Feeling broke? Then welcome to the Pay It Forward system. Pick up a card from the heart-shaped display board by the front door (depending on availability), place your order with Namdi for a plateful of home-cooked curry or dhal, and enjoy delicious, hot food, with no questions asked. Feeling kind? Purchase a card from Namdi and place it in the heart for someone else to use.
All food is cooked from scratch under 5-star hygiene conditions. Main courses cost £5 (£2.50 for children) with sides from £2. Namdi’s speciality is sweetheart momos, a type of steamed dumpling with a savoury or sweet filling, and the latest addition to the menu is gourmet vegan icecream.
“Please drop by if you’re in the centre of town and looking for a quiet place (no wifi!) for a cup of tea or a nourishing veggie meal,” said Elissa and Namdi, who are particularly passionate about making sure that families and children feel welcome at this new initiative.
