Shakespeare fans won’t be hoping for stormy weather on Friday 24 June when Quantum Theatre presents ‘The Tempest’, outside on the ECOS amphitheatre.
On a remote island, Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, plots to restore his daughter Miranda to her rightful place using illusion, magical spirits and skilful manipulation.
He conjures up a storm, the eponymous tempest, to lure his usurping brother Antonio and the complicit King Alonso of Naples to the island. For those who are shipwrecked, trickery abounds, romance blossoms and monsters lurk in this fast-paced, musical family show.
Quantum Theatre presents a brand new production of Shakespeare’s magical play of love and sorcery, of airy spirits and drunken sailors, of deep truths and theatrical illusion. The play starts at 7.00pm. Tickets are: Adults £15, Concessions £9.50; family ticket £40 (call box office to book family ticket 01373 465949). In case of bad weather, the performance will move inside.
