Frome Town Council is seeking leasehold or freehold proposals for Badgers Hill Stadium as a long-term sports and community asset for Frome.
The council is seeking proposals that balance private operation with public benefit, safeguarding the stadium’s sporting, social and community value for future generations.
The call for bids follows a town council meeting in December, where councillors voted to remove the exclusive right of tenants Badgers Hill Ltd (BHL) to lease the stadium.
The company, owned by US-based businessman Courtney Fong, was granted a lease in July 2025 at £32,000 per year for 23 years, with an option to buy. However, by December, the council say no rent had been paid and the lease agreement remained unsigned, with representatives from BHL attending the meeting to outline its plans to move forward.
At the meeting, the council made it clear that they would welcome a business plan from BHL with a directive that health and safety concerns must be addressed.
The deadline to submit bids is Saturday 14th March.
