THE future of four sycamore trees on Frome’s Millenium Green will be discussed at the next Frome Town Council planning advisory group on Thursday 7th December.
An application has been made to fell four of the sycamore trees on Millenium Green due to their proximity to the garden boundary wall of resident Mr Ian Vincent.
The application has met with objection from Frome local Paul Stillman who said, “There is no reason to fell these trees which help to screen off the houses when enjoying the wonderful communal space of the meadow and Millenium Garden.”
In support of the application, neighbour to Mr Vincent, Dr John Haynes said, “These trees are fast growing and are already causing bowing of the boundary wall, with roots stretching well under our patio. Inevitably there will, in the not too distant future, be serious damage caused by these trees, resulting in a very expensive repair bill. For this reason alone they should be removed this winter.”
The meeting at the Town Hall starts at 7pm.
