FROME’S town crier, Mike Bishop, will soon be holding two fundraising events to raise money for his town crier festival in the summer.
The first will be this Thursday 14th January with an evening of bingo at Frome Cricket Club – eyes down is at 8pm.
The cricket club will also host a quiz night on Friday 5th February from 8pm. Teams of up to six people are welcome at a cost of £2.50 per person.
Mike said, “I’d like to thank all involved who help to run and attend these events, as without such support the town crier festival could not go ahead.
“After a break for the Christmas period, Angie and I and our hard working committee are now set to restart fundraising for this year’s Frome Town Crier Festival. The festival will take place outside the library on Saturday 18th June.
“If there is anyone who would like to lend their support in the way of judging at the festival, I would be only be too pleased to hear from you. You do not have to have any special skills, only be willing to give up a day of your time to have a wonderful day in the company of some very colourful characters!”
