FROME Town Crier’s annual Christmas Charity Fair was held at the Cheese and Grain on Saturday 19th November, and has been hailed a success by organisers.
The town crier, Mike Bishop, and his wife Angie have thanked all who turned out to support the event. Mike said, “Several stalls supporting local charities and fundraisers were there. The day started slowly but picked up and I think most stalls had quite a successful day.”
The event was hosted by the town crier and his committee to raise money for the 2017 Frome Town Crier Festival, which will be held on 17th June.
“Our own stall sold cakes and ran a tombola and grand Christmas draw, bringing in £229.50 for the festival. The draw prize winners were David Chedgy, Ben Reynolds, Joy Snook, Colin Paige, Mrs Dredge and Janet Coles.
“Angie and myself, along with all the other stallholders, would like to thank everyone who supported the event.”
