IT’S been a frantic couple of weeks with the teams all in action and with the first team picking up positive results in both league and cup.
A win in the Somerset Cup has seen us drawn away to Radstock Town in the next round in week commencing 7th November. In league action, we’re in excellent form with four wins and a draw in our last five league matches – as our unbeaten run continues. The 2-0 win at the weekend has seen us rise up to third in the division and still with a game in hand.
This Tuesday, as Frome Times goes to press, we have Lymington Town at the Hill. Lymington are in a sticky patch after losing their opening seven matches in the league. That said, they have beaten early league leaders Sholing in the FA Trophy and our neighbours Melksham relied on a 93-minute winner in a 3-2 clash earlier this season. So it’s not a game to be taken lightly at all.
Next Saturday, we have the fixture most of the league is looking forward to, as we take on Sholing away at The Imperial Homes Stadium in what could be a huge three points in the title fight.
Then we look forward to hosting Westbury United on Friday 21st October in a match that’s been hugely awaited since the fixtures were announced.
Our Women’s team continued their fine start to the season with a second home win on the bounce putting Middlezoy Rovers to the sword in a commanding 5-0 victory, as they also move up to third place in the division.
