People in Frome who have volunteered their time and skills for events, ventures and groups this year recently enjoyed an annual celebration at the town hall.
The event was organised by Frome Town Council to thank the 90 volunteers who have helped with town council projects and to recognise the enormous contribution they have made throughout the year.
Volunteers included noticeboard ambassadors for the 30 community boards around Frome, the Discover Frome information point team, discovery rangers and volunteer rangers.
In total, 65 volunteers attended to enjoy a festive afternoon of tea, coffee, mince pies and cream from the Old Bakehouse.
Mayor Anita Collier said, “It was such a lovely buzz in the town hall as Frome Town Council said a huge thank you to all the volunteers who help out in so many areas across the town. Without their dedication and commitment, we would not be the compassionate and caring town we are. A cup of tea and a warm mince pie is nowhere near enough to thank them, but hopefully the sentiment behind it will help to show our heartfelt appreciation of what they do.”
“Frome Town Council wishes all its volunteers a very Merry Christmas and offers heartfelt thanks for everything they bring to the town.”
