Black Swan Arts was the focus on Saturday 3rd August for the launch of a unique and free mobile phone app for Frome.
Bristol-based sound artist group, Satsymph, worked closely with Home in Frome to create a geo-located non-linear walk especially for Frome, which will last for many years to come. This is because it is linked to satellite tracking, with sound pools being placed in a variety of sites around central Frome. The project, called Walking Memories in honour of the Home in Frome publication Working Memories, was commissioned by LISTEN, A Summer of Sound Art, as a legacy for the town.
Walking Memories was emphatically launched by the Mayor of Frome, cllr Mark Dorrington, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Frome, cllr Anita Collier.
To download the app please see www.listen soundart.org.uk and follow the links to Walking Memories or better still call in to the Round Tower Gallery at Black Swan Arts between now and the 1st September for details.
