Research at We Hear You
We’ve joined up with Wellcome Centre for the Cultures and Environments of Health and the University of Exeter to conduct research into the impact of cancer on relationships and how counselling can play a part in supporting patients and families during this experience. Led by Dr Olly Clabburn, assisted by Isabel Bovey, with us on placement from the University of Bath, the project launches this week and we’d be so grateful for your help and participation.
Cancer and Relationships Project
At We Hear You, we work with adults affected directly or indirectly by all types of cancer. In 2019 we launched our ‘WHYtogether’ service in response to requests for joint counselling from people accessing our one-to-one service.
The aim of this research is to gain a broader understanding of how cancer affects adult relationships, and where applicable, the experiences and impact of counselling on these relationships. Participation through the survey is anonymous and your personal details will not be stored. There is a further opportunity to contribute to the research via face-to-face interview, which is optional; you can express an interest in taking part within the survey.
