Tickets are on sale for this year’s Frome Musical Theatre Company youth production, We Will Rock You, at the Frome Memorial Theatre.
We Will Rock You follows two rebels on a questto save rock ’n’ roll in a post-apocalyptic world where there are no musical instruments and rock ’n’ roll has died.
“Watch our heroes, Galileo and Scaramouche, as they team up with a group of societal outcasts, the Bohemians, to take back the iPlanet from the all-powerful Globalsoft, led by the Killer Queen,” said Sarah Doble, a member of the theatre company. “Join them as they fight for freedom, individuality and the resurrection of music.
“The cast of young Bohemians are in school years 3 to 11 and have put the show together in a short time over the summer.”
With a script by Ben Elton (The Young Ones and Blackadder), this futuristic spectacle features many of Queen’s hit songs including We Are the Champions, Radio Ga Ga, I Want to Break Free, Somebody to Love, Killer Queen, Under Pressure, Another One Bites the Dust and, of course, We Will Rock You.
Sarah added, “This smash-hit musical, which ran at the Dominion Theatre in London’s West End for a whopping 12 years, is a quirky, eccentric and heartfelt story of the power of individuality.”
The performances will run on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th August at 7pm, and on Saturday 9th August at 2pm and 7pm.
Tickets are available from the theatre box office. Call 01373 462795 or visit www.fromememorialtheatre.org.uk for more information.
