HERE are Michael Cooper’s weather statistics for Frome in May 2020.
Rain fall for May 2020 = 7.0 Milli Metres and in the old £ = 0.27 inches . This figure included 4 mm recorded 01/05 , 2.0 mm recorded 02/05 & 1.0 mm recorded 03/05
There were 3 days of Not Measureable Rainfall [ie] [N.M.] .
The statistic of 7.0 mm was the lowest amount for a May , i have recorded in Frome for over 30 years .
The average for Frome over a 20 year period = 71.1 mm .
The lowest previous rain fall received = 26 mm , 30 mm for 2010 & 2004 respectively, see additional information .
According to the Met Office , this Spring 2020 has come to be the forth driest since records began in 1862 ranking behind [1] 1893 , [2] 2010/2004 , & [3] 1990 .
Spring is recorded as March 20th to June 20 th , for the purest .
Through out the spring of 1893 , 109 mm was received . Todate 31/05/20 , 119 mm of rain has been recorded for the Spring of 2020 .
It would appear there fore that dry springs have happened previously !!.

Highest Day time Temperature = 26 Degrees C recorded @ 15.00 hrs 27/05/20 .
Lowest Day Time Temperature = 10.0 Degrees C , recorded @ 15.00 hrs 10/05/20 .
Lowest Night time temperature = 6.0 Degrees C , recorded during the nights 10/11 & 11/12. A ground & air frost was recorded @ 0700 on the 11/05 .
Highest Night time Temperature =20 Degrees C , recorded during the night 27/28 /05 .
The Average Day Time Temperature recorded @ 15.00 hrs May 2019 = 15.7 degrees C .
The average Day Time Temperature recorded @ 15.00 hrs May 2020 = 19.0 degrees C .
It is interesting to note that [1] The highest Day time temperature received on 07/05/18 = 26 Degrees C
[2] The highest Day Time Temperature received in May 2017 = 25 Degrees C .
Although [1] &[2] above are of interest , This May 2020 was 4.0 degrees C , higher on average than that of 2017,2018 & 2019 .
Unfortunately i do not possess a Sun shine recording instrument , but i am in the process of obtaining a scientific Radiation type .
Albeit not the Campbell Stokes glass sphere sunshine recording device which was first introduced in 1890.
All temperatures were recorded from within a Stephenson Screen from two different thermometers.
Highest Barometric Atmospheric air pressure = 1033 Milli bars . recorded 25,26,27, /05/20 .
Lowest Barometric Atmospheric air pressure = 1004 Milli bars , recorded 01/05 .
Highest Wind Speed = 38 m.p.h. Vector Direction = S.W. Recorded 22/05 .
