A wildlife parade will take place in Frome next month, with children, families and community groups invited to take part.
The event on Sunday 12th July, titled We Are Nature: Wildlife Parade, is part of Frome Festival and will feature wildlife-inspired masks, music and movement.
Organised by Frome Town Council in partnership with TiltFutures, it aims to bring activity into the town centre through creative participation.
Children are being encouraged to make a wildlife mask at home or school ahead of the event and learn a simple dance routine created by Mojo Moves.
Participants will gather outside St John’s Church at 2pm before a procession through the town.
Lead Councillor for Climate Action at Frome Town Council, Sara Butler, said, “The Wildlife Parade is a wonderful opportunity for children and families to come together, get creative and celebrate the natural world. Through art, movement and play, we’re encouraging young people and their grown-ups to think about their connection to nature while creating a joyful spectacle for the town on the final day of Frome Festival.”
Creator Caroline Till from TiltFutures said, “It is so important for our young people to be able to have the resources and the opportunity to enjoy positive creative experiences. Our parade combines that creativity with learning and celebration, enabling young people to explore their relationship with the natural world in a positive and memorable way.”
Everyone is welcome to take part and no booking is required.
