THE Somerset Wildlife Trust will be hosting a perimeter walk of Merehead Quarry, the largest operational quarry in Europe, on Sunday 3rd September.
On the perimeter wildlife walk you will be able to take in views of the various flora and fauna that inhabit the area, including otters, butterflies and wild flowers. You may also see sparrowhawks, peregrines and ravens, which use the wildlife haven as nesting grounds.
The walk will be led by Tony House and the Bio and Environmental Officer for the quarry, Simon Wiltshire.
The cost of attending the walk is £2.50 for adults and £1 for students and children.
