As the nights grow longer, Jackdaws have planned a couple of two cosy concerts in Great Elm, near Frome, to lift your spirits and warm your musical soul!
On Saturday 3rd December, VIDA Guitar Quartet will play a celebration concert in the Jackdaws main studio before they tour America in early 2017. Then, later in the month, Jackdaws’ annual Christmas Concert by Candlelight will fill the village church in Great Elm with joyful song and music on Friday 16th December.
The VIDA Guitar Quartet Concert takes place at Jackdaws, Great Elm, on Saturday 3rd December, at 6:30pm. The programme will include music by Vaughan-Williams, Warlock, Bach, Brahms and Rossini arranged for four guitars.
Why not celebrate ‘Christmas by Candlelight’ with Jackdaws later in December, too? The event has fast become a firm favourite in the festive calendar, and will take place on Friday 16th December from 6:30pm in the Church of St Mary Magdalene at Great Elm.
The concert will feature performances by many members of the Jackdaws family, including artistic director Saffron van Zwanenberg, Jackdaws Songbirds, and Jack’s Music Club, all brought together in this joyful seasonal celebration. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served in the interval.
Last year’s concert was a sell-out so early booking is recommended.
Tickets for either event cost £12 in advance or £15 on the door (subject to availability), and are available from Jackdaws on 01373 812383 or email music@jackdaws.org
