NOMINATIONS are open for the Frome Young Citizen of the Year 2020 award.
The Frome Selwood Rotary Club as part of Rotary International are this year seeking to recognise a young person in the Frome area as the Frome Young Citizen of the Year who will receive a trophy and monetary prize.
This annual event focuses on individual young people and groups of young people, aged less than 25 years, who have demonstrated their commitment to citizenship, goodwill and understanding through various activities.
The awards can be for individuals or groups, for projects and initiatives that showcase positive citizenship and the important responsibilities assumed by young people.
Frome Selwood Rotary Club say, “What matters is that they, individually or as part of a group, have made a positive difference which is worthy of their nomination; for example, they might be champions in their school or local community, young carers, fundraisers, volunteers or have shown particular courage in some way.
“If you know such a young person or group who deserves a Rotary Young Citizen Award, then please nominate them. By doing so, you are acknowledging their commitment to whatever effort they have made. Please contact Grant Lovett either by email: grant.lovett@live.co.uk or telephone 01225 767969.”
