1st Rainbows’ visit to Bath Cats and Dogs Home

BATH Cats and Dogs Home recently had a visit from Frome 1st Rainbows, who presented them with a cheque for £156 and food for the animals.

The Rainbows group are all aged between five and seven. The home’s education officer, Sheila Reed, gave a short talk accompanied by her dog Louis, an ex-resident of the home, before giving the girls a guided tour of the kennels and catteries accompanied by colleagues Zena Jones and Lucie Fowler.

Sheila said, “We asked what the home does and  the girls answered ‘look after pets because otherwise they won’t have a home’; we couldn’t have put it better ourselves!”

The Rainbows group leader Beth Pearce said, “The trip went really well;  the girls had a brilliant time. The girls are working towards their ‘Rustle, Bustle and Squeak’ badge which has a community section, including fundraising.

“We managed to raise £156 after hosting a coffee evening and a raffle, as well as donating dog and cat food. The girls were each given a certificate from the home for their efforts.”

Zena from the cats and dogs home added, “We were pleased to be able to help the 1st Frome Rainbows achieve their badge. We’d also like to say a big thank you to the Rainbows for all their hard work fundraising!”
