FROME Netball Club has celebrated its 70th anniversary.
Past members of the club, parents and friends, joined current member for the trip down memory lane.
Club chairman, June Barnes, told Frome Times, “We had about 50 to 60 people in attendance – there were players that had not met up for 20 to 30 years that were reunited at the event, which was lovely!
“We had lots of memorabilia on display – including the current and old uniforms. And our junior players took to the court for a game to show the returning members what the club can do.
“A good day was had by all!”
June’s own commitment to the club also received recognition at the event – she helped set up the club 70 years ago and has remained with them ever since.
“I had a video message from people that could not come, which the team made for me,” said June. “And two bouquets were presented to me, and to top it off, the president of the Somerset County Netball Association – which I also helped set up – read a few words.”
