Frome Friends of Palestine are delighted to announce that Sir Vincent Fean, British Consul-General in Jerusalem until his retirement in 2014, will be coming to Frome on Friday 18th March.
Sir Vincent said, “The Israel/Palestine conflict is bad and getting worse. People need hope of a better tomorrow for their children. Peace can only come when people feel safe and free. Both parties to this uneven conflict need to change, but are either unable or unwilling. So we have a duty to help: speaking the truth to power, opposing violence, rekindling hope. How?”
Sir Vincent, a trustee of Medical Aid for Palestinians and patron of the Britain – Palestine Friendship and Twinning Network, will be speaking at St Catharine’s Hall, Park Road, Frome (BA11 1EU) on Friday 18th March at 7.30pm. Admission is free but donations to the Twinning Network would be appreciated. Refreshments available.
