Frome’s own variety night is back next month at the Merlin Theatre, showcasing a line-up of stellar new acts.
New Old Friends’ show ‘Pick & Mix’ will return on Friday 24th April, following the runaway success of their most recent show, ‘Crimes Against Christmas.’
Hosted by Feargus Woods Dunlop, the show will feature stand-up comedian Joe Riley and Frome’s own dance company, Tri-Art.
Continuing Pick & Mix’s burgeoning reputation for unique and interesting musical headliners is the alter-ego of ‘Crimes Against Christmas’ star Andrew McGillan. The musician known as ‘Heybus’ will bring folky guitar-based storytelling, which harkens back to a simpler time of bards, ballads and affordable housing.
Organisers say, “He roams the land in a nuclear ambulance, playing humorous songs on his old guitar, with all the excitement and charm of a wet dog. Often described as a ‘one man group hug’, Heybus was born on a cold January morning in the late 70s to short, hard-working Glaswegian parents.”
The show will start at 7.30pm at the Merlin Theatre. Visit the website for tickets https://merlintheatre.co.uk/
