A theatre in Frome is set to host the Western Area final of the All England Theatre Festival on Saturday 16th May.
Five winning companies from Somerset, Avon, Bristol and Totton will perform their plays before an experienced Guild of Drama adjudicator, who will then provide constructive feedback on each production.
This will cover technical aspects including lighting and sound, set design and costumes, as well as direction and acting.
Organisers say, “Join us to watch a wide-ranging choice of plays that will provide an exciting and entertaining day of theatre and see if you agree with the adjudicator.”
There will be two performances on 16th May, at 2pm and 7pm.
Now in its eighth year, the All England Theatre Festival is the only countrywide competitive festival of one-act drama in England.
After a series of preliminary, quarter-final and semi-final rounds, it culminates in a Grand Final where the four area champions compete for the title of English Champion at the Little Theatre in Leicester on 30th May.
