The Frome & District Probus Club held its 35th Annual General Meeting recently.
The club reports, “Traditionally at the AGMs, the club elects a new president for the coming year and this year the members elected Iain Martindale for the year 2019 – 2020. President Iain affirmed his intention to guide the club along its successful path, involving all members in its activities and attracting new members from Frome’s retired and semi-retired professional and business community.
“Frome Probus is a club for men and was founded in 1984. It meets once a month and has recently changed its venue and meeting day to the Frome Assembly Rooms every third Wednesday of each month.
“The monthly members’ meetings consist of club business, coffee and tea, talks on a wide range of different topics, and a two-course lunch.
“However the club organises much more than the monthly meetings and offers a number of other activities, to which spouses and friends are welcome. Activities include walks, cultural visits, days-out, croquet, barbecue, quiz night, formal lunches with our ladies, etc. The club has a culture of care and tries to help members and spouses when it is needed.
“Currently there is room for a few more members and any man who feels it may be of interest and might like to join, should contact Probus using the contact form on the website: www.fromeprobus .co.uk
