DOROTHY House Hospice Care has opened its new charity clothes shop in Frome, which is the charity’s 23rd shop and second in the town.
The new Frome shop, based on Market Place in the town, which is Dorothy House’s first standalone clothes shop, was officially opened on Tuesday 16th October by two long-standing Dorothy House volunteers – Gwenda Watts, who has nine years voluntary service with the charity, and Joyce Edwards, who has volunteered for 23 years.
Dorothy House’s existing Frome shop, on Kings Street, is currently undergoing a facelift in time for Christmas. Both shops will continue to take donations. Both shops also have opportunities for volunteers to get involved.
Rowena Midgley, Dorothy House retail development manager said, “We already have a really good following in Frome so are positive that this new shop will prove popular with the local residents.
“Dorothy House relies heavily on charitable donations and the revenue provided by its charity shops, so every donation or purchase makes a big difference. We welcome donations of people’s pre-loved items to either shop and thank the people of Frome for their support.”
