FROME boxer Ryan Wheeler will enter the ring at the end of the month for his second professional fight.
The event will be held at Trowbridge Civic Centre on Saturday 31st January in what will also be his first experience of 6×3 minute rounds.
Ryan made his professional debut last October and earned himself a draw. His pro debut came after almost 10 years and 60 amateur fights, but now, he prepares for his biggest fight to date. Ryan said, “This is a big show for me as it will not ever get any closer to Frome than this, with there not being a venue big enough for a professional show.
“I’m very excited to be back in the ring so early in the year, I have not stopped training over Christmas.
“Also this will be my first experience in a 6-round fight. I think this will suit me because in my last fight I felt I started working out my opponent and landing more shots in the 3rd and 4th rounds.
“I always go into the ring nervous but confident with the amazing support behind and I expect this fight to have a fast start. Now I have got my pro debut out of the way I feel I have a lot less pressure on myself and I can now show everybody what I can do.”
Tickets for the event in Trowbridge cost from £30 and can be bought from Ryan by contacting him on Facebook or calling him on 07518 866425. Alternatively call Contender Gym on 01225 765712 for tickets. Doors open for the event at 7pm with the first bell at 7.30pm.
