Children and staff at St. John’s School in Frome, were determined to mark Remembrance as always, despite the restrictions in place this year, so when they were asked to contribute to Frome’s ‘virtual’ Remembrance Service, they came up with a Covid-friendly plan.
The school reports, “Three weeks before the day, house captains from one of the Year 4 ‘bubbles’ were filmed laying the school wreath at the Memorial. Children in the school choir were also filmed, socially-distanced in the school hall, singing a heartfelt, ‘We Will Remember’. Both videos form part of Frome’s virtual Remembrance 2020.
“At 11am on Wednesday 11th November, the whole of St John’s School observed a minute’s silence together as always. However, this year did not see everyone gather in the school hall as is customary, due to current Covid-19 restrictions in place. This year, all school bubbles were linked up from their classrooms on Microsoft Teams to ensure they were still able to mark the moment together, as one.”
