CLASSICAL piano trio, ‘Trio Paradis’ are continuing their series of lunchtime concerts at Christ Church.
The concerts, which feature Jacquelyn Bevan on piano, Lisa Betteridge on violin and Linda Stocks on cello, are held on the first Thursday lunchtime of every month, February through to December, at 1.45pm.
Their first concert on Thursday 2nd September, Classical & Romantic Trios: ‘His & Hers’, was a collection of contrasting piano trio movements from the late 18th to early 20th century by male and female composers.
“One audience member said he thought he had died and gone to heaven, when listening to Soir by Mel Bonis,” said pianist Jacquelyn Bevan. “Quite a compliment, but then it is a very beautiful piece!
“The next concert on 7th October is ‘Invitation to the Dance’, from waltz and bolero to the Charleston, Ravel to Piazzolla, an eclectic mixture guaranteed to get your toes tapping and transport you to another time and place.
“Everyone is welcome, and we’d like in particular to invite families and people working at home who would like a break in their day.”
Entrance to Trio Paradis concerts is free, with a retiring collection, and the performance lasts approximately 50-55 minutes including a short interval. Tea, coffee and home-made cakes are available from 20 minutes or so before the concert begins.
