EMERGENCE Festival will be held in Frome at The Silk Mill on Sunday 28th November 12-9pm.
This one-day event is a showcase of artists from all disciplines including music, photography, sculpture and theatre. It’s a very family friendly affair with workshops for all ages, a bar, stalls and Eritrean food.
Heather Truesdall, the festival’s creative director said, “The idea for Emergence Festival came out of a desire to show up in the world in a different way after having my children; instead of trying to attain some idealized version of myself, to celebrate the messiness and the ordinariness and the excellence of life in a real and full way. I am so excited to share the space with so many amazing mothers in the arts, it’s going to be a beautiful event!”
Jessica Francombe, the event producer, says she is excited by the opportunity for families to spend the day and engage with the arts together, “We are thrilled to have so many incredible mothers involved, not only showing work, but also sharing ideas, performing and running workshops. Bring your baby, your teenager, your granny – there really is something for everyone to enjoy.”
