TALKATIVITY is a new community interest company that is offering counselling sessions for adults affected by cancer. Talkativity operates as a not-for-profit company and donates all proceeds to local cancer charity, We Hear You (WHY), at the end of each financial year.
The counselling service is delivered online, by experienced BACP-accredited counsellors and there is no limit on the number of sessions. It is open to anyone over 18, in any part of the UK, who has been impacted directly or indirectly by cancer and costs £55 per session.
Talkativity operations manager Lisa Hirst said, “We’re delighted to be launching Talkativity, making use of the expertise of the team at WHY. Talkativity will generate much-needed income for WHY’s free services for people affected by cancer or any life-threatening condition.
“As the counselling service is delivered online, adults affected by cancer can access support from their own home, without having to travel or juggle other responsibilities. We’re especially pleased that this online delivery means Talkativity is unrestricted by geography and is open to anyone who needs it across the UK. Sadly, there is never a shortage of people in need of the kind of support Talkativity offers, and we know that many people are happy to pay for their therapy, knowing that it funds support for those who can’t afford to pay.”
