ORCHARDLEIGH Golf Club Seniors welcomed in their new captain and new competitions secretary at their AGM on Thursday 24th November.
The club reports, “Steve James is the new captain and following his election at our AGM, Steve’s first job was to present a crystal brandy glass to retiring captain, Craig Bowden, in recognition of his year in office.
“A second presentation saw Steve bid farewell from the committee to Malcolm Lloyd, who has served for ten years. In that time Malcolm has been captain three times and has also been responsible for the fixtures, before moving on to the job of competitions secretary.
“Malcolm was presented with an engraved crystal tankard after Steve thanked him for a decade of “outstanding and loyal service” to the section. Malcolm plans to spend more time with his family.
“The new competitions secretary is Mike Passingham, while Adrian Hawes (treasurer), Dave Edwards (secretary) and Maurice Hurst (handicaps) were re-elected for a further year. Orchardleigh Seniors continue to meet every Monday morning for their friendly ‘roll up’.”
