FROME’S Christ Church has reflected on what has been a busy year for the church as it hosted a variety of different concerts during 2022.
Ann Burgess, director of music at Frome’s Christ Church said, “During 2022, Christ Church Parish Church has not only been a peaceful Christian space and the traditional setting for church services, weddings, funerals, christenings and choral evensongs, but has also been delighted to host many concerts and art in the Frome Festival and around the year, from Schubert’s Winterreise winter journey sung by Guy Wilson with pianist Alan Burgess on a freezing day in February to some of our town’s youngest musicians in Frome Youth Choir’s Christmas concert in December.
“Especially memorable have been fundraising concerts organised by Liz Kozlowski and Neil Moore in the spring in aid of Ukraine and the 12-hour marathon of live music and words in aid of Christian Aid’s East Africa Hunger Crisis Appeal in November and the Candlelit Christmas Concert for Fair Frome.
“Here’s to a 2023 of Christ Church being a centre for cultural and spiritual life in the heart of our community!”
