Frome’s centre of kindness spreads message in national festival

THE Good Heart, Frome’s community centre for kindness, was invited to participate in Kindfest on 10th November, a UK-wide online festival set up to celebrate World Kindness Day. 

Other contributors included Radio 4’s Claudia Hammond, who came to Frome in March as a speaker at the second Frome Kindness Festival.

Good Heart volunteer and board member Simon Keyes created an 18-minute video for the occasion, featuring a range of local community members and supporters including Frome mayor cllr Philip Campagna, Dr Helen Kingston from Frome Medical Practice and Rev Liz Dudley from Christ Church.

Director of The Good Heart Alison Murdoch said, “The video explores: What happens when a group of local volunteers come together in the name of kindness? What difference can it make, both for individuals and the community? What does kindness actually mean, at the grassroots and where does it lead?

“The title of the video, Kindness is the glue that binds communities together, was taken from the first Annual Frome Kindness Lecture given by Professor Robin Banerjee at Frome Town Hall in March.”
