You may simply recycle your Frome Times once you have read it front to back, but Laura Parry started using her copies to make eco-friendly jewellery.
Laura said, “I mostly work in silver and traditional beads, but wanted a more environmentally friendly method. The idea for paper jewellery arose from a desire to make more eco-friendly jewellery that relied less on mined materials.
“I found inspiration on Pinterest but these tended to be more brightly coloured, imitating plastic or ceramics rather than highlighting their original material.
“You make the beads by tightly wrapping thin strips of paper around a thin stick/needle and then varnishing to waterproof.”
