TICKETS are selling well for Frome Musical Theatre Company’s production of the popular musical Hello Dolly which runs from next week Tuesday 13th to Saturday 17th May.
“The show is full of wonderful songs including ‘Put on Your Sunday Clothes’, ‘Before the Parade Passes By’ and of course the title song’ Hello, Dolly!’ made famous by the legendary Louis Armstrong,” said the show’s producer Sally Langley.
“Along with fabulous costumes and a string of eccentric characters we hope to have another hit on our hands so the message is, as always, book now to avoid disappointment!
“Hello Dolly is a fast moving and vibrant production, and so in addition to stalwarts Jo Plenty and Andrew Carpenter in the leading roles, it is highly appropriate that many of the other parts are played by younger members of the cast, all of whom are experienced and well respected actors in the Frome theatrical community.”
Other leading roles are being played by Nicole Wooldridge – Minnie Fay: Nicole’s first performance with FMTC was when she played Aladdin in 2003. Since then she has played many roles including, Charity in ‘Sweet Charity’, Hodel in ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ and Audrey in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’. She has also played Cinderella, Snow White and Jack in ‘Jack in the Beanstalk’ in the annual pantomimes.
Nicole has a BA Hons degree in Drama and Theatre studies from Royal Holloway University of London and a Masters degree in Musical Theatre from Guildford School of Acting.
Nicole currently teaches drama, singing and dancing for Perform in Bath and Bristol. She has also recently started her first business, ‘Princess & Me Parties’.
Nicole is thrilled to be in a show with her family, Davey, Katina (mum) and Eloise.
Ryan Hughes – Barnaby Tucker: Ryan has been performing from a very young age, taking the stage for the first time in the role of Knuckles in ‘Bugsy Malone’ at the age of nine. Since then he has performed in numerous shows around the South West. Most recently he played Seymour in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ in Warminster and the Mock Turtle in ‘Alice in Wonderland’.
This is Ryan’s third show with FMTC having joined the society in 2012 with ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and he is thrilled to be playing the part of Barnaby! Later this year Ryan will step away from the stage and making directorial debut with ‘A Chorus Line’ at the Merlin. When he isn’t on stage he can be found either behind his desk in his job as a travel agent or assisting the Youth Theatre class at the Tri.art theatre school.
Abi Holmes – Ermengarde: This is Abi’s 4th show with FMTC since joining in 2012, where she played Babette in ‘Beauty and The Beast’. Abi has been a member of Merlin Theatre Company in Frome since 2006 where she has taken on many roles on stage and behind the scenes. She has choreographed several Christmas shows and has won the Cinderella Trophy Awards ‘Choreographer of the Year’ twice, for ‘The Snow Queen’ and ‘Pinocchio’.
Abi is gearing up for Merlin Theatre Company’s autumn show of ‘A Chorus Line, which she is producing and mentoring the choreographer.
Abi has a BA Hons degree in Dance from University of Chichester and hopes to develop a career in the arts. She has been dancing from an early age and is an active member of Tri.Art Dance Academy where she takes regular class and performs in their summer shows. Her most recent production and a highlight was playing Kathy Selden in ‘Singin’ in the Rain’. She is thrilled to be playing the part of Ermengarde in ‘Hello, Dolly!’ and has really enjoyed working with FMTC again.
Matthew Graham – Ambrose Kemper: Matthew is happy to return to FMTC after returning from a 12 month deployment overseas serving alongside the British Armed Forces. He has enjoyed being back with the theatre company with so many familiar faces and being a part of another fantastic show.
Matthew has worked with the company before in the 2012 production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and also had a principal part in the pantomime ‘Dick Whittington & his Cat’ that same year as Captain Cuttlefish. He hopes that he can remain heavily involved with FMTC for many shows to come and more than anything, he’s glad to be back.
