VIOLET von Riot, a burlesque performer from Frome, is in the running for this year’s Miss Pinup UK competition, but voting ends soon.
Public voting for the contest, which was won last year by Miss Scarlett Luxe, also from Frome, ends on Friday 1st August.
This is the first time Violet has entered, but she is hopeful, and said, “I have never entered any kind of competition like this, so its all new ground for me!
“I would love for Frome to bring the title home two years in a row, but I would be more than delighted to be able to perform in London, and for the experience.”
Violet, real name Carly, began burlesque classes at The Cheese & Grain less than two years ago, and is now a performer.
Each Miss Pinup entrant must produce three photographs and a three-minute video to exhibit their chosen skill – Violet’s is her artwork – before being put to a public vote. The winners are then selected to do a judged burlesque performance at the London Tattoo Convention this September.
Violet said, “I would love to make it two in a row for Frome with the support of my town.”
