Playing their tenth away game in their first 14 league matches, Frome Town pulled off an excellent 2-1 victory at Biggleswade Town, thanks to two goals from substitute Ollie Taylor.
Manager Adrian Foster decided on a 4-5-1 formation with Ben Thomson playing as lone striker, and with normal centre back pairing Rhys Baggridge and Jack Vallis both suspended, Jake Hutchings (on loan from Torquay Utd) and Steve Walker (new signing from Dorchester) took their positions at the centre of defence for the first time.
The 7th minute saw Ben Thomson go close as he latched onto a Ricky Hulbert pass only for his shot to be deflected wide, but Thomson picked up an injury in the action and was replaced by Taylor who immediately made an impact as he set up Aaron Rodriguez who shot wide across the face of the goal.
After a Matt Smith effort had flashed just wide of the far post, Biggleswade had their first chance as Kelvin Bossman was put through on goal, but Darren Chitty was able to save well from close range.
The 20th minute saw a superb build up from Frome as Rodriguez found Mark Cooper with a ball behind the defence, and as Cooper pulled the ball back across the box, the unmarked Ricky Hulbert just failed to connect. Biggleswade looked good in the 39th as Zane Banton cushioned a perfect ball back to Lee Allinson on the edge of the Frome area, but with time and space he blazed the ball high over the bar, then just before the break, Frome so nearly took the lead as only a great save from Tom Gowans denied Steve Walker his first goal from a corner and Brandon Mundy headed the rebound over the bar.
Frome took the lead in the first minute of the second half as Taylor cut in from the left to unleash an unstoppable shot high into the corner past Tom Gowans, and after he had just failed to get onto the end of a Cooper cross, he repeated the feat in the 68th as he latched onto a ball from Cameron Brown and again produced a composed finish.
With Frome looking comfortable defending their lead, they went close again in the 83rd as Lamar Powell released Matt Smith who selfishly pulled the ball back for Hulbert whose shot took the slightest deflection to go past the post for a corner.
With Chitty called into rare action to save from long range shot from Sam Ives, Biggleswade got a consolation goal in the last minute of normal time when Mark Cooper was penalised for a slightly suspect handball and Bossman scored from the spot to make the scoreline 2-1 to Frome.
