FROME Concerts Group is celebrating the return of Sunday afternoon concerts at Rook Lane Chapel.
‘A4 Brass Quartet’ will perform music from their latest CD release, Mosaic, on October 24th at 3pm.
Frome Concerts Group say, “The quartet, whose members are principal players from some of the UK’s top brass bands including Black Dyke, Brighouse and Rastrick and Fodens, was formed in 2013 at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) and has gone on to become a multi-award-winning chamber ensemble.
“A4 Brass Quartet has a unique blend of instruments with a cornet, tenor horn, baritone and euphonium creating an exclusive sound that stands out from the standard brass quartet. With this unusual instrumentation, A4 Brass has actively developed their repertoire, commissioning new music, composing and arranging music themselves.”
The Autumn series of concerts is the first that Frome Concerts Group has offered since Spring 2020.
The concerts last about an hour each and are at 3pm on Sunday afternoons.
Chair, Mary Gatliffe, said, “We are thrilled to be back, offering the chance to hear young professional musicians in the wonderful acoustic of Rook Lane Chapel.”
The series includes early music, a brass ensemble, a string quartet and a harp and violin duo and tickets are on sale online at fromeconcertsgroup.org
