Merlin audiences have grown used to the theatre’s Associate Artist Pip Utton’s multiple personalities.
Writer/performer Pip regularly metamorphoses into characters from history and the arts, ranging from Hitler to Churchill, from Chaplin to Dickens and more.
A doyen of the one-man-show, he is known for his uncanny ability to ‘become’ his characters. His latest piece is even more of a challenge, not least because he is portraying a woman. And not just any woman, but Margaret Thatcher herself, whose legacy still fiercely divides opinion 25 years after leaving office.
To discover Pip’s insights into the Iron Lady’s personality, watch him in ‘Playing Maggie’ at the Merlin on Saturday 28th February at 7.45pm. Tickets are £12 (£10 concessions) – Box office: 01373 465949 – www. merlintheatre.co.uk
