Edventure Frome is recruiting volunteers for an immersive theatre production as part of the Frome Festival next week.
Edventure is looking for performers, technicians, artists, makers, materials/props, volunteer movers and shakers who would like to be part of a creative, fun and collaborative process. Volunteers will be enticed with perks such as free tickets to the show and assured a fun time!
Organiser Biz Bliss said, “A group of young adults are halfway through a two month process creating this production, and are now at the stage of involving the wider Frome community in the lead up to the performance; making props and sets, recruiting performers amongst lots of other things.
“The production is inspired by stories from Frome’s local legends: everyday people with tales to tell. During the performance, audience members will be guided through a series of secret venues in the centre of town, on a journey of exploring local legends through sound installations, visual art and storytelling – meeting interesting characters and engaging with it all along the way.”
Lead artist Ben Macfadyen said, “Having grown up in this thriving town, I feel extremely privileged to be working on this production that galvanises the abundant creativity in Frome to bring to life the stories of local people.
“Legends of Frome is an exciting opportunity to harness this wealth of talent in this town and share the stories within the walls and streets of a place steeped in stories, memories and visions.
“Now the missing link is the participation of lots of local people as we gear towards the final stages of putting on the show.
“This is a rare and unique opportunity to be part of this intriguing and interactive production.”
Volunteers can give a few hours or a week up until after the performance on 6th July.
Anyone interested should email biz@edventurefrome.org saying how they’d like to be involved.
The performance will take place on 3rd, 4th and 5th July 2016. Tickets are available from the Cheese & Grain box office or online through the Frome Festival.
