MARSTON Church, an 18th century church on the edge of the River Frome valley less than two miles from the town, is making a name for itself as a new performance hosting venue.
The venue says, “Used occasionally for church services, new life is being brought to the building as a music venue. Starting only a few months ago with a Daisy Chapman concert during the Frome Festival, it is slowly building its reputation.
“Regular open mic sessions on Sunday afternoons have brought performances from some wonderfully talented singers and musicians who love the acoustics and enjoy the setting.
“Our next event is our first endeavour at theatre on Wednesday evening 15th December when Frome actor, Pip Utton, will perform his solo play “A Christmas Carol” in the character of Charles Dickens. Those who have seen Pip in action will know this is not a performance to be missed. Those who haven’t yet seen him – well here’s your chance.
“On Wednesday evening 22nd December the duo, Belshazzar’s Feast, who have entertained audiences around Britain and Australia will make the penultimate performance of their UK tour with their celebrated Christmas show that mixes folk, pop and classical music with superb wit and dry humour. Tickets, £15, are selling fast so please don’t be disappointed.
