This year’s Frome Festival fashion show, Time Machine, celebrated the town’s rich fashion and textile heritage by taking everyone through a fashion journey that spans the decades.
Organisers said, “Old photographs of this town’s iconic streets were at the root of the inspiration for this year’s show. Seeing Catherine Hill at the turn of the century with pedestrians wearing Edwardian dresses, boater hats and children playing with hoops on the cobbles made us realise that in today’s fashion anything goes. Many of our quirky independent shops sell clothing from the early 1900s to the present day.
“We thought it was time to bring all these styles together and present them in a unique and entertaining fashion, a real journey through the decades bringing us bang up to date. In true Frome style we had incredible people on board to help us realise this Time Machine show; models, stylists, shop owners, designers, fashion enthusiasts and we are so grateful for their time, energy, creativity and enthusiasm. It was a fabulous, fun filled night with the added addition of two excellent and surprising MC’s from the very brilliant Rare Species Theatre Company.”
