ACTIVE and In Touch (A&IT) have opened a pop-up bookshop in Christchurch Street West.
Visitors and browsers can choose books from a wide variety of genres to read and purchase.
The charity has also recently opened a café at Frome Medical Practice.
Volunteer Patricia Barker said, “You can be assured of a warm welcome from members of the A&IT team when you visit the café at Frome Medical Practice and the office in Christchurch Street West where you will find books in abundance at the pop-up book shop.
“Magda, the café manager, presides over a wonderful array of food and refreshments including sandwiches, cakes, biscuits and warm and cold drinks. Also in the team are Weronika and Emily plus A&IT volunteers who are not only there to ensure service but also to chat to customers about A&IT. It provides a very welcome space to sit and relax with a cuppa before and after appointments or whilst awaiting transport.
“A&IT seeks to support people in Frome and the surrounding villages who feel they are lonely or isolated.
“You may have some spare time and would like to volunteer for this very worthy local charity. If this is the case, please visit Frome Library in Justice Lane between 18th to 29th July, where there will be a display and an opportunity on Wednesday 26th July to meet with Lisa Cooke, director of service plus other staff and volunteers.”
