FROME charity, Active and In Touch, has said goodbye to Lucia Chadwick, who has been running the charity for seven years.
Di Roberts, assistant co-ordinator for the charity said, “Lucia started as a volunteer when the project was first created by Anna Brindel back in 2011. When Anna left, Lucia took over the reins and along with Charles Wood, made Active and In Touch what it is today. She brought so much love, compassion and devotion to Active and In Touch which is why she won a Civic Award for her services to Frome and is the reason why she is much loved by our members, volunteers and is known to so many other organisations around the town. She has left a huge hole which we will endeavour to fill!
“With the help of our wonderful trustees, our chair (Julia Di Castiglione) and vice chair (Alan Didimuss), and the new service manager, Dougie Brown and our brilliant volunteers, I am sure Active and In Touch is in safe hands and will go from strength to strength and continue to help people in Frome and the surrounding villages who are isolated and lonely.
“Lucia, we will miss you, but wish you all the luck with your new venture at Focus Frome.
“A few thank yous for today, firstly, Martin, Tom and Amy from the Cornerhouse for letting us have our leaving do there; Rupert Kirkham and his team from Frome FM for doing a live show from the Cornerhouse; our lovely Mayor, Mark Dorrington for coming along, also the Health Connectors, Jenny from The Coventry Building Society, Tony Perry, Terry Hulbert from the Somerset Freemasons, Jane Wood, Andrew Lee from the Rotary and all our members and volunteers who made it so special. We thank you all for your continuing support!”
